PART-TIME CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDICS & FIREFIGHTER/EMT

1. Review of Application, Resume & References
2. Initial 30-45 min interview via ZOOM
3. Written, Skills & Physical Assessment  (1 Day)
4. Final Interview

Please note assessments can be scheduled on a weekend

If you currently work for a fire department, an approval form will be required and signed by your Fire Chief.    

Useppa Island is unique and candidates must be able to perform a multitude of tasks with in initial limited resources (staffing) on a 24hour shift basis.

A minimum of 3 shifts per months including one (1) weekend day will be required. 

Rates of pay are calculated by a multitude of factors;

• Education 
• Years of Experience
• Paramedic or EMT
• Certifications (that apply to Useppa needs)

Base Rate begins at $15.00 

UIFR has partnered with Lee County EMS and is approved to provide ALS care.  Being a barrier island it is imperative that we provide the highest level of service as we can experience delays in transport times. Florida State Certified Paramedic credentialed by Lee County EMS preferred not required.

* If not credentialed - candidate can volunteer until he/she has completed the credentialing process with Lee EMS. Upon completion you will become active and paid.
